Monterey Design Conference Returns in October for In-Person and Virtual Events

Entering its fourth decade, the Monterey Design Conference (MDC) will reconvene next month at the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, California. The biennial event to be held October 23-25, 2026 brings together leading architects and designers from the United States and around the world.

Every two years, the architecture and design community comes together at Asilomar for three days of incredible design, unexpected conversations, and the kind of inspiration that stays with you long after the weekend is over.

This year’s program brings another incredible group of architects and design thinkers to Monterey — including Marina Tabassum, Xu Tiantian, Ma Yansong, Billie Tsien, AIA, and many more.

The speakers aren’t the only part of what makes MDC, MDC. It’s walking the conference grounds between sessions. Sharing meals and conversations with colleagues. Running into a speaker outside the Social Hall. And having a few days to step away from the day-to-day and simply immerse yourself in great design and the people who make it happen.

If you can’t make it to Monterey this year, you can still be part of MDC. Virtual registration is available, with livestream access to the headliner presentations and select CE sessions throughout the weekend. Register for the MDC Virtual Experience.
